At CHMS, our mission is to provide a high-quality education in a safe,
supportive environment while honoring the individual talents of each child.
In 2000, Children’s House Montessori School opened its doors to its first preschoolers and our Head of School, Denise Touma, assumed the Head of School position. Today, CHMS has grown to four Montessori preschool classrooms and one Montessori toddler classroom.
Our 18 teachers and teachers assistants, from across the Globe, serve to help your child flourish in our Montessori environment. Many teachers have taught at CHMS for more than 15 years, which supports our strong sense of community. We look forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary in the coming years.
The American Montessori Society states that the “components necessary for a program to be considered authentically Montessori include multiage groupings that foster peer learning, uninterrupted blocks of work time, and guided choice of work activity. In addition, a full complement of specially designed Montessori learning materials are meticulously arranged and available for use in an aesthetically pleasing environment.” CHMS is a full member of the American Montessori Society.
